TEHRAN- Kuwait may import natural gas from Iran, CEO of Kuwait Oil Company, Nizar Al-Adsani, said.

Kuwait may use Iranian gas to power its electricity plants, he added.
“Negotiations are in the preliminary stage and we have not yet come to terms on price and volume of gas import,” the IRNA news agency quoted him as saying.

Managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company, Hamid Reza Araqi, said in April that the Islamic Republic is ready to export natural gas to Kuwait via a pipeline, which is being built to transfer Iran's gas to its western neighbor, Iraq.

“It is possible for Iran to export natural gas to Kuwait through Iraq and this can take place if a contract for gas exports is signed between Iran and Kuwait,” Araqi said.
